Rider Skills / Requirements
Fat Woody beach cruisers require a proficiency in bicycle riding skills. If you haven’t been on a bicycle for a while, we recommend polishing those riding skills with a local rental. Fat Woody beach cruisers are not a ‘beginner level’ electric bicycle (plus they are pretty darn expensive). During the Fat Woody pre-ride instruction and familiarization session, riders will be given an opportunity to demonstrate those riding skills.
To ensure rider safety, and to ensure other guests are not affected by an inexperienced rider slowing the tour, Fat Woody reserves the right to cancel a Beach Cruiser Experience due to insufficient riding skills or perceived impairment. Riders will be given a 100% refund if a cruise is cancelled by your tour guide. Thank you for your understanding.

Your Beach Cruiser Experience
The Beach Cruiser Experience is roughly 90 minutes long with stops- actual riding time is about 75 minutes. We recommend blocking 2 hours for this activity.
Your beach cruiser experience instruction/familiarization session begins promptly at your scheduled cruise time.
Please arrive a few minutes before your cruise time to sign your waiver / provide driver’s license.
Your cruise director will introduce you to your cruiser(s) once you’ve checked in.
Failure to check-in at your scheduled cruise time may result in cancellation - allowing a standby rider(s) to take your spot.
Fat Woody beach cruisers are incredibly reliable and well maintained, but any piece of equipment is prone to momentary and unforeseen failure. This failure may also represent safety concerns.
Fat Woody reserves the right to cancel an experience due to mechanical issue. Riders will receive a 100% refund, and preferred, ‘priority rescheduling’ of your cruise party.
Inclement Weather Cancellation
Inclement Weather Cancellations are judgement calls made by Fat Woody BCE management. They are typically made during the 24 hours before your cruise begins and are 100% refundable. If there is an Inclement Weather Cancelation declared, riders will be notified via email/text message.
Inclement Weather Cancellations are determined by Fat Woody management only - not the guest.
San Diego weather during the winter months can be wonderfully pleasant. But it can also can get downright chilly and rainy some days. Rainy days are no fun for anyone. If the weather stinks, we’ll notify you of any changes to your scheduled reservation.
San Diego is also known for its morning marine layer (low fog/clouds) on some days. An afternoon cruise is less prone to marine layer weather patterns and is also warmer. But those crystal clear morning cruises are peaceful and relaxing. Wear layers!
Fat Woody Beach Cruiser Participant Agreement - Riders will be required to fill out and sign this agreement prior to cruise departure.
